Blackbox VPS – Updated Specs & Features
Two weeks ago Servury launched Blackbox, a zero‑knowledge VPS where the provider cannot read memory, disk, or run commands inside the VM. Since then we have shipped the requested changes and re‑specced the entry plan.
What Changed
Core is now 2 vCPU / 4 GB / 50 GB NVMe for the same $9.99. The old 1 vCPU/512 MB plan is retired; existing customers have 4 GB queued and can request an upgrade via support.
Measured boot: firmware, kernel and initramfs are built from public sources, a launch measurement is published for each release, and an open verifier checks it against the CPU‑signed attestation report before the LUKS passphrase is entered. Guide & verifier.
Own control plane: new Blackbox machines run on QEMU/KVM under a Rust wrapper (one systemd unit per guest). No Proxmox, Virtualizor or VirtFusion. Guests are unprivileged, seccomp‑filtered, with private mount, PID and device namespaces, and SEV‑SNP protects against the host and escaping neighbours.
Custom ISO from any URL can be attached as a CD and booted on demand.
Console logging is off by default and per‑VM toggleable. Kernel serial output is never written on the host unless you enable it.
Abuse reports are reviewed by a person on every plan, not just the top tier.
All original guarantees remain: no guest agent or port, LUKS unlocked via dropbear, /dev/sev‑guest exposure, no email/phone/KYC, 11 crypto options (own processor, Stripe, cash by mail), zero access logs, JavaScript‑optional site, BYOIP and self‑managed rDNS, and more.
